    Abstract:

Applications: The invention relates to testing soil health using a chemical less mobile soil testing gadget developed to determine the soil macronutrients and other soil parameters. The gadget is based on NIR spectroscopy, a specific set of spectra of the infrared light source has been chosen. NIR light is spattered on a soil sample of a specific set of spectra and read the voltage value of reflected light from the sample using a specific photo-diode sensor. After collecting the voltage value, mathematically, we calculate the absorption of the wavelength of light, and our ML model determines the macronutrient available in the soil samples. The result of nutrients available is also categorized in the range of High, Medium, and Low, which are displayed over the smartphone App. Also, the result or history of a particular test store on the cloud database by unique ID and GPS location generated at the time of testing. Anyone can access the test report from the globe on our website. App has a feature to recommend fertilizer based on the soil health test report.
Advantages: Farmers do not need to wait for a long time to test their agricultural land health. They can use fertilizers or organic compost-based on soil health. They can know the macronutrients of their farmland simultaneously within a few minutes. Crop yield will be increased and save soil from eroding due to excessive use of fertilizers. Developed device and ML model helpful to determine soil nutrients significantly

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
