    Abstract:

Applications: Multiple versions of high power fiber laser modules in a packaged prototype form factor has been developed in multiple wavelength bands and with varying coherence levels narrow linewidth to regular to supercontinuum The applications include Industrial processes like cutting welding marking etc Defence applications such as LIDAR and directed energy Medical applications such as laser surgery and imaging
Advantages: Novel innovations were proposed to enhance the capability of the laser modules both in terms of wavelength coverage and spectral properties The achieved lasers are some of the first of their kind in the ability to reach high optical powers with the kind of spectral properties demonstrated

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
