    Abstract:

Applications: The product is a smart wearable device for monitoring health status comprising of a temperature sensor and a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) sensor. The temperature sensor senses temperature of the user whereas the SpO2 sensor senses blood oxygen saturation and heart rate of the user. When the at least one of temperature, heart rate, and SpO2 falls below the threshold, the control unit generates an alert signal to alert the nearest health services about the health status of the user. The device can be deployed for monitoring health conditions of users in quarantine facilities, users with other chronic and acute health conditions and general public to monitor their health.
Advantages: The product can measure of three important parameters (temperature, heart rate, and SpO2) widely used to monitor the health conditions of the users. The monitoring is real-time with low power consumtion enabling higher battery life. The product has network connectivity to transfer the user information to health care services without patient action. The wearable device can communicate with the remote computing devices via a low point-to-point communication protocol such as Bluetooth, WiFi, WiMax, iBeacon, and near field communication (NFC) and through wired communication protocols. The remote computing device can represent the temperature and other attributes on its display on an android/iOS application. Changeable bands for user comfort.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
