    Abstract:

Applications: 1. This is a microbial process for conversion of dairy wastewater into liquid biofertilizer using 75% less space, 90% less energy and almost 90% less CO2 equivalent emission. 2. The biofertilizer enhances yield of economic crop and replaces use of chemical fertilizer and biofertilizer for irrigation. 3. It makes dairy effluent treatment a revenue generating venture.
Advantages: This converts the waste into liquid biofertilizer within 16hours. It consumes 1/10th the energy of a conventional system. It replaces the 7-8 unit conventional effluent treatment by a 1-2 unit biofertilizer production plant. There is no water lost, energy saved, no sludge generated and a continuous operation for more than two years with one time inoculation. The biotreatment plant size is also reduced due to reactor design.

Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
