    Abstract:

Applications: The present invention provides a compound of General Formula or a stereoisomer, a tautomer, a geometrical isomer, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a pharmaceutically acceptable solvate or a polymorph thereof, wherein R 1 , R2 , R 3 and R4 are independently selected from hydrogen and straight or branched (C1-C6) alkyl and haloalkyl, or R1, R 2 and R3 , R 4 are independently combined together with one or two atoms of the corresponding pyridyl or imidazole ring to form a 6-8 membered partly unsaturated or saturated carbocycle or heterocycle, wherein the said carbocycle or heterocycle can be unsubstituted or substituted with one or more groups independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxy, halogen, cyano and oxo, R 5 is straight or branched chain C4-C6 terminal alkenyl group, X is a halogen such as fluorine or chlorine, Y represents a bond between platinum metal and the terminal alkenyl group of R5 in chelating mode or can be a halogen such as fluorine or chlorine.
Advantages: 1. A new class of antibiotics with novel modes of actions to fight against drug-resistant pathogens. 2. Provide olefin tethered Platinum-Nheterocyclic carbene compounds useful in the treatment of the effect caused by drug resistant bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aures. 3. Provide a class of compound of General Formula I useful in the treatment of the effect caused by drug resistant bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aures. 4. Provide a process for preparation of olefin tethered Platinum-N-heterocyclic carbene compounds useful in the treatment of the effect caused by drug resistant bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aures. 5. Provide a method of treatment of a patient suffering from the effect caused by drug resistant bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aures by using olefin tethered Platinum-Nheterocyclic carbene compounds.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
