The developed device can be used for various surgeries, which are based on hydro-dissection procedure, mainly cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. This device provides an adaptive feedback controlled electric hydro-dissection equipment with live data monitoring and recording. The device utilizes the feature of monitoring and recording of live real time data during surgery, smooth injection, by the use of powered motor. The device is designed and developed under the principles of ergonomics. It can also be used as a low cost syringe pump in laboratories.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
