    Abstract:

Applications: Post curing inflator is used by tire manufacturer to provide constraint cooling and avoid deformation of tire shape upon cooling. The PCI setup used in the industries is quite bulky. The present design uses external force loop which requires lots of space as well as materials to manufacture such setups. The external force loop can be shorted using an internal force loop. In tire industries, temperatures of the tire after the curing process will reach around 200°C. The tire contains nylon fibres and hot nylon has the property to deform upon cooling. If the hot post cured tire is kept in open environment, then this rapid cooling could cause deformation of the tire and loss of its characteristic shape.Hence, tire is pressurised to a certain limit and is allowed to cool under inflated condition. For this purposes, post curing inflator (PCI) is used by the tire manufacturer to provide constraint cooling and avoid the deformation of tire shape. The already existing inflators are bulky and are voluminous machines. Moreover, the conventional setup requires hydraulic actuators for movement of heavy platens of the inflator, which adds to the additional operational cost. PCI is especially for tyres of nylon carcass construction. The current bulky setup should be replaced by developed compact design. The invention is to reduce the power consumption.
Advantages: This eliminates the bending moment as well as the use of hydraulics which results in reductions in volume and operational cost. It is easy to operate.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
