Please describe in detail including the TRL Level:
It is a solution developed for a secure and tamperproof online voting using blockchain technology. This system can be used independent of the platform and device, be it smartphone, tablet or computer. There will be no lost vote as people with disabilities or people not present in their constituency on election day can also vote or take part in elections using this online voting system. This system has three main components - authentication, voting and counting. All the components are designed in a modular way and are easily customizable as per the Organization's requirement Authentication:The system provides an online interface for voter registration. Voters are registered after proper authentication and PKI is used for performing device authentication, thus allowing voting from registered devices only. Voting: For voting, the voter needs to login to the online voting system during the specified hours of the day of election as decided by the election authority. This component mainly implements blockchain. This is the core component of the system. Counting: Counting component is used for the counting of casted votes that are stored in the blockchain. This blockchain based eVoting system avoid multicasting of vote, maintain integrity of casted vote, check authenticity of voters, provide non-traceability between voter and his vote. The prototype is ready and this can be customized according to the requirement and choice of the interested party.

    Abstract:

Applications: Current voting system requires physical presence of voters in hisor her constituency or election location for voting whether it is an EVM based or ballot paper based. Due to this restriction many eligible voters are deprived of their voting rights if they are not present in their constituency or election location on the date of election. Our Blockchain based eVoting System is a solution to this migrated voters issue. It is a secure and tamperproof online voting system can be used for remotevoting for any type of election such as ECI, School or College election or Cooperative Society etc and it is accessible from any device and any location and guarantees security, immutability, no multicasting and non traceability.
Advantages: Accessible from any location, any device such as laptop, PC etc. As the system is based on blockchain technology the voting records becomes immutable. System provides non traceability between voter and his or her casted vote Provides PKI based data protection and verification Prevents multicasting of votes Customizable user authentication Easy registration steps

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
