    Abstract:

Applications: Due to degradation of environment there is a need for indoor air purification system which is capable of providing clean air for breathing. Presently, many indoor air purifiers exist. Many of these use HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters which absorb particulate from air to reduce the amount of suspended dust. However, pores in these filter are sometimes large & small particles are able to escape past these filters. Reducing the pore size increases the complexity of manufacture and therefore increases the cost of these filters. The main objective of the invention is to device an indoor air purification system which is low cost and easily maintainable. This is done by replacing the use of expensive and difficult to maintain, HEPA filters by the readily available and easily disposable PM2.5 respirator to cleanse the polluted air.
Advantages: Low cost & easy to maintain. Providing congenial environment free from germs, pollens, airborne in indoor spaces Ensuring sterilized atmosphere Replaced HEPA filters by the readily available and easily disposable PM2.5 Variety of respirators can be accommodated, both round and flatbed thus making replacement easy Reduce the size and weight of the purifier to make the purifier more portable and convenient to use. It acts as dehumidifier. It removes harmful volatile organic compounds. It helps in eliminating the common air pollutant. It prevents suffocation through bad odor and smoke & ensuring fresh & pure air.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work
read more >>

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
