    Abstract:

Applications: Breast cancer is one of the major disease responsible for female mortality in the countries worldwide. “A multivariate pattern recognition method for cancer identification using wearable thermal sensor array breast caps.” having application in :- (a) Early disease diagnosis of breast cancer (b) Non-invasive and in-contact technique for breast cancer detection 1. A multivariate pattern recognition method for breast cancer detection is developed using the temperature responses form the wearable thermal sensor array breast cap. 2. The novel fuzzy symmetry and temperature features are computed using these temperature responses and fed to the principal component analysis and known classification methods. 3. The classifiers decision is combined through a decision fusion process and the subjected person is classified as: Normal or Cancerous. 4. Magnetic ray imaging (MRI) is also an effective diagnosis tool. This technique is effective for the women with dense breast however the requirement of contrast agent for high specificity makes it unsuitable for some women. 5. The thermography method records the infrared (IR) thermogram of the patient breast using an IR camera and analyze it for the cancer detection.
Advantages: 1.Normalization of temperature response data from breast cap to make the temperature response data coherent over all the persons. 2.Difference of maximum temperature from a breast and its contralateral breast and computation of fuzzy symmetry features from it. 3.Difference of minimum temperature from a breast and its contralateral breast and computation of fuzzy symmetry features from it. 4.Difference of mean temperature from a breast and its contralateral breast and computation of fuzzy symmetry features from it. 5.Maximum and mean temperature of a breast and contralateral breast.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
