    Abstract:

Applications: This is a cooking and heating device can provide a clean cooking energy solution at domestic or household level similar to that of LPG stove. But using renewable densified biomass such as biomass pellets. This will yield enormous gains in terms of health and socioeconomic welfare of the weakest people and the most vulnerable sections of society at household level. Besides, the cleaner combustion in these devices will greatly reduce the products of incomplete combustion including the greenhouse pollutants, thus helping to combat the climate change. Thus this product will deal with the emission reduction from biomass combustion and can provide to solution for both cooking and heating applications to the rural and remote population of the country.
Advantages: The model developed is having the combustion characteristic at par with the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stove and hence, can reduce the release of bad smoke significantly (emission of PM and CO thereby, improving the health of the cook and her family members besides reducing the emission of harmful gases into the environment.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
