Advantages: 1. Better Monitoring & Control in the process of drug inventory management and distribution thereby increasing transparency in the system 2. Inventory Analysis for demand forecasting and demand management 3. Timely Availability & Improved Quality of medicines 4. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Creation would be enhanced with the access to the drug information issued to citizens’ state wide. 5. Abstraction Framework displays selective information to the end user as per their role thereby enabling privacy. 6. Statistical Analysis through the Central Dashboard at State-wide and National level. 7. Digital Technology helps the state to save money, space, and give time to think about increasing productivity, while automating the process both internal and external. 8. Mobile Computing wherein, the e-Aushadhi application can be operated through a smart phone or a tablet that consumes much less power as compared to conventional PC based systems.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
