    Abstract:

Applications: The present invention relates to mycocapsules, a process of preparation and a method for bioremediation. Microorganisms have been identified for their dye and metal removing activities but for application in field, they need to be transported and stored yet retaining their viability and activity. Thus, such processes are required which increase viability, activity, enhances storage and transportation. Production of mycogranules has been attempted, however, these mycogranules .are susceptible to cross contamination and require 4 degree temperature to remain active. The developed process has application for : Bioremediation Treatment of waste water
Advantages: Encapsulated spores with nutrients. Eliminates the need for additional nutrition Improved viability Improved dye and metal removing efficiency Dual action of dye and metal removal or single action Colour coded capsules to distinguish Useful for treatment of waste water with dyes such as Acid Navy Blue, Acid Blue161 and Pigment Orange 34, Acid Red 88, Basic Blue 9, Basic Violet 10 Useful for treatment of waste water with metals such as Cu(II), Cr(VI), Ni(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), This process can be stored and transported under ambient conditions without the loss of viability and pollutant removing capabilities Improved biological and physical efficacy

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
