    Abstract:

Applications: It is a challenge to open the conventional LPG gas cylinders cap with nylon string. The string has to be pulled to release the cap which often results in hurting the person pulling the string. The current openers need force to open the cap and some damage the cap. Thus, there is a need to have a opener which can overcome these disadvantages. The present invention provides a opener for the LPG gas cylinders without damaging the cap or hurting the user. The cap remover has a handle with grooves to provide a grip to hold the cap remover. The opener operates in two different positions using downward and upward hand motion. Applications: 1. Commercial gas cylinders 2. Domestic gas cylinders.
Advantages: 1. It opens cap effortlessly. 2. The openers does not cause any harm to hand by eliminating role of pulling nylon string attached to the cap. 3. It can be used by any person regardless of gender, age and prior experience of opening the cap. 4. It can be used by one hand.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
