In situ composite wrap repair solution for damaged pipeline on the platform of its patent registered technology titled NANO FILLERS REINFORCED POLYMER COMPOSITES WRAP TO REPAIR DAMAGED STEEL PIPELINES. The technology has been further validated for Proof of Concept and developed into Industrially useful end-to-end solution as well as product portfolio under the strict supervision of IOCL Research and Development team as a part of IOCL Start-Up program. The technology has been validated on the standard of ASME PCC2 and ISO 24817 through 600+ experiments and found compliant to the above-mentioned standards. Vasitars also applied the solution using different product portfolios in field scenarios at IOCL Refineries (Mathura, Panipat, Vadodara, Barauni, CPCL – Chennai) and Cross-Country Pipeline (Ambala Pump Station Jurisdiction). The solution is found compatible to all the environment factors of Oil and Gas Pipeline industry like UV, Hot Wet (70 deg C , 85 percentage RH), Steam Autoclave, Acid, Alkaline, Diesel Fuel and Crude Oil. The solution has sustained pressure cycling loading of over 10,000 cycle with pressure variation of 20 Bar to 80 Bar with no significant degradation in performance giving projected life term of 20 Years as per ASME PCC2 standard.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
