    Abstract:

Applications: Because of the oral diseases like oral cancers, Trismus, oral sub mucous fibrosis and others, fibrosis band forms inside the mouth which decreases the opening of the mouth and also cause, pain, bleeding and burning sensation inside. If a doctor is not been able to inspect properly proper precautions cannot be taken care. There is no such affordable, reusable as well as ergonomically well device available in the market, which can be used by the doctors .In order to solve the problem faced by the doctors, an inspection device was made which can be used to aid help in diagnostics purposes and other mouth examinations. The device has no high-tech machinery, and it works on a simple Nut &, bolt system to open the jaw. This design will be accepted by all because of its high utility, reusability, simplicity and affordable cost. It has two variants, one having side adjustments which helps in fitting with different mouth sizes, and other is of generalized size having fixed sides. It has silicone layer over it which give cushioning effect and safeguards the teeth from tearing
Advantages: The device is unique and Novel because no such type of device exists in the market which can be used with such simplicity and affordability and ergonomically fits well inside the mouth some novel points are listed below. 1. It applies distributed load force on molars(roots) on frontal teeth, incisors and canines. 2. Since only lower part of the jaw moves downwards while opening the mouth, so a flexible bottom plate was there which follows the movement of the jaw and the upper plate remains Fixed. 3. It is based Nut-nut mechanism, so more reliable and more sensitive towards opening.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
