    Abstract:

Applications: 1. An atlantoaxial joint stabilizing instrument comprising: a first arm tube, a second arm tube, and a connecting member horizontally disposed between the first arm tube and second arm tube is disclosed. The first arm tube comprising a first prong member rigidly coupled to the distal end of said first arm tube to connect said first arm tube to vertebrae. 2. The second arm tube comprising a second prong member pivotally coupled to the distal end of said second arm tube to another vertebra. The connecting member comprise a first rod holder rigidly attached to a first hub element, a second rod holder rigidly attached to a second hub element, a graduation tool is slid along a guide rod and is tightened to guide rod by a graduation tool tightener key.
Advantages: 1. The present invention pertains to the field of Neurosurgery and is related to the area of the craniovertebral junction, the junctional area between the skull base and the upper cervical spine. In particular, it is related to the occipital bone and the atlas and axis vertebrae. 2. The invention attempts to bring about a three-dimensional reduction in the atlantoaxial dislocation and basilar invagination by the help of a novel surgical instrument, the C1 C2 distractor and reducer. It also suggests a surgical correction for coronal tilt and rotational tilt.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
