    Abstract:

Applications: The present invention relates to the field of personal health care systems and method of operation thereof. More specifically, the invention provides a protective respiratory system for viral infection.
Advantages: 1. It provides air at a positive pressure to person, and thus eliminates the risk of usage of contaminated air in an eventuality of imperfect seal between respirator and face. 2. It assures supply of air through two sources an air bottle and a large cylinder. Thus, the system is more reliable, and fail safe. Also, it provides the user flexibility to perform specialized operations when treating the patient as in such cases, the user can disconnect the supply line from cylinder and use air from the bottle. 3. The mounting of bottle, and the overall design on thigh offers one more advantage - It allows user to wear existing PPE (personal protection equipment) without making any alterations to it, and then on top of it wear the DSRS. This, this design can be integrated with existing PPE designs seamlessly. 4. The usage of bacterio-viral filter, and the overall design concept offers one more advantage. It obviates the need of using N95 respirators, which are in short supply across the world. 5. Finally, the system, eliminates the risk of exposure of high viral loads to doctor as current N95 respirators are only 95 percent efficient.

THE VISION
THE MISSION
ABOUT I-STEM
It has always been the basic tenet of the Government of India, in generously funding R&D efforts at academic institutions over the years, that facilities established through such support be made available to those needing them and qualified to make use of them for their own research work

However, this was never easy or straightforward for, among other reasons, there was no ready source of information of what facility was available and where. Thanks to the Web, it is much easier today to have a national and regional “inventory of resources”, so as to match users with the resources they need, and to do all this in an efficient and transparent manner.

This can lead to a leap in R&D productivity and greatly enhance the effectiveness of public investment. This is the motivation behind I-STEM.
