:  

Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic Indian nationals for the R&D Engineer position for the industry-sponsored project titled “An artificial intelligence approach to solve waste management challenges”.

Principal investigator (PI): Dr. Bunil Kumar Balabantaray, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Meghalaya.

Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI): Dr. Rabindra Narayan Mahapatra, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Meghalaya.

Duration of the project: 1 year (2022 - 2023) and is extendable upon performance and mutual agreement.

Eligibility: This position is open to

  1. B.Tech. in CS / EC / EEE/ EE or any other relevant branch of study as per the project.
  2. M.Tech./ME in CS/ EE/EC/EEE or the relevant branch of study as per project requirement.
  3. Ph.D. in related areas of research (Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning/AI)

Desired skills

  1. Computer Vision and Machine Learning is essential.
  2. Experience with OpenCV and image processing is a must.
  3. Well-versed and experienced in Python.
  4. Experience in C++ is a plus.
  5. Acquainted with Google cloud services, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and CollabPro.
  6. A team player with autonomy in the work.
  7. Fluency in English is mandatory. French is a plus.

Desirable Qualification & Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with work experience relevant/related to the project. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and digital image processing.

Age limit:There is no age bar.

Duration of appointment: Initial appointment is for one year, which may be extendable to a permanent position with the parent company.

Note: The regular payment of salary is subject to the availability of the fund and approval of the sponsoring agency.

Accommodation:

Bachelor accommodation will be provided in Hostels as per the availability.

  3. The short-listed candidates for interview will be intimated only through emails. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Considering the situation, there is a possibility that the interview may be conducted in online mode.
  4. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview and no other communication in this regard will be entertained. The authority reserves the right of accepting/rejecting any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof.
