Well-aligned with the National Semiconductor Mission (NSM), BITS Pilani has been at the forefront of Semiconductor Education and Research. Recently, we have started a unique CoE in this Domain. The CoE is named as CREST (Center for Research Excellence in Semiconductor Technologies).
As one major activity, BITS Pilani and CREST are conducting a professional development course on "Introduction to Device and Systems Packaging." It will be offered online as a Professional Development Course (PDC) by BITS Pilani to serve the emerging needs of Indian semiconductors and packaging. Global experts will teach this course; the intended recipients are Industry Engineers, Academic Faculty, and postgraduate students. Participation certificates will be provides and this course will be offered on a quaterly basis.

Training will be consists of theory and practical hand on demo session. Total duration of the program is 6 days. Each day specific hours of dedicated theory sessions and hands on demo on each istruents will take place.
The following topics will be covered for each equipment:
1. Principles and basic functioning of the equipment
2. Methodology/SOP of equipment
3. Sample preparation techniques
4. Different Applications of the equipment
5. Method of Analysis of result
This is nearly 30 days training, UPNEDA, Lucknow will help TERI in logistical arrangement. UPNEDA is functioning as nodal agency for implementation of various schemes in the state. UPNEDA training centers has been set up in Lucknow and Mau to develop efficiency regarding installation, operation, maintenance and servicing of projects based on renewable energy sources. In view of the growing need of training for servicing / repairing of renewable energy plants a training center is being established in Kannauj district. Efforts are being made to develop the capacity in renewable energy sources such as solar energy, small-scale hydroelectricity and biomass-based electricity production in the state. Previously, TERI has conducted one GSDP programmes in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh with UPNEDA.
? TERI will provide classroom based training programmes (comprising of 40% theory and 60% practical) at the designated site for two batches of 25-30 trainees per programme. The training programmes will also include site visits and handholding to provide practical understanding of the functioning & maintenance of solar power plants, solar pump, solar dryers, solar cold storage, solar lighting-cooking and other solar systems.
? The training in-UPNEDA, Lucknow campus. Intention is to train local youth for O&M and collection purposes. It will focus more on micro-grid based electricity supply/ distribution along-with RE plus storage.
The training programme will also include site visits to provide practical understating of the functioning & maintenance of installed pilots done at UPNEDA campus and nearby areas. Batteries, centralized solar power plants, smart meters will be included in the training for better understanding.
? For practical training sessions participants will have opportunity to use UPNEDA campus facilities.
Interns will be given the opportunity to work on PLC. They will get a brief about ladder logic development for specific operations and control. Especially, students will get insight into how to control hydraulics using PLC.
In-depth study of sugarcane harvesting, Material selection of farming equipment, Structure design and analysis, Use of modeling and analysis software, cost estimation and cost analysis, Value engineering, testing of equipment, Optimisation – Material, space, weight & cost.
The project of the milking machine requires training in electronic product design which consists of microcontroller programming PCB design and testing PCB manufacturing and mechanical assembly design and manufacturing.
In this 9th Sense Web Portal for MSMEs and NGOs using AI, ML, and Data Science (training) we are going to use the selenium web driver testing tool. The language and libraries which will be used in selenium will be java related. Selenium is the testing tool that is used to test websites and software but in this project, selenium will work as a backend. As a frontend, we are going to create a webpage so that users can enter the essential data such as company name, about the company, products, etc., and submit it through the webpage.

To design & develop a drone technology that will be used for seedball plantation over acres of land & to reduce labor work & time required for the same. To make user-friendly technology for farmers as well as cost-efficient.

The main theme of this training program is to get aware of the participants regarding the sophisticated instruments or characterization such as mentioned above. The training program includes theory lectures as well as Demonstration/Hands on Training on the sophisticated instruments throughout the program. Quiz competition will be held on the first and last day as per the course content.

The training is organized to enhance the practical skills of Post Graduate Students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members from Universities/Colleges, Scientists, and Post-Doctoral Researchers who are working in multidisciplinary/ transdisciplinary and translational research in various organizations.

SAIF Centre, Mahatma Gandhi University and St.Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally is jointly organizing a hub and spoke model hands on training program in association with JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru under DST-STUTI (Synergistic Training Program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure) program to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ from 28.11.2022 to 04.12.2022. Post Graduates/B.Tech/Research Scholars/Post Doc Fellows/Faculties of any Science stream can apply. Instruments included in the training- UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, FTIR, HPLC, LCMSMS, LC-QTof, AAS, ICPMS, FESEM, UTM, Confocal Raman Microscope with AFM and Fluorescence spectrometer with Lifetime Detector. The Training is meant to be conducted on sophisticated equipment existing across the country like SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope), AFM (Atomic Force Microscope), BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) Analyser, AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometer), NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) Spectroscope, ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer), ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometer), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV/Vis) Spectrometer, FTIR, Raman Spectro-photometer, X-Ray Spectrometer, on Techniques and Skills like Microlithography, Creating and Monitoring Bioreactors, Chemical/Biotechnology/Clean Room/Micro-Nano Fabrication Lab maintenance etc.

Unemployed but having degree in ITI/Polytechnic/Science/Technical Graduates/BSc/MSc/B Tech
Interested applicants may enrol themselves for such training mentioning the name of the tools/programs in their statement of purpose.
If the request from various labs is received, the enrolled applicants nearby to the host institutions may be called for such training.

The attendees of such training will be listed on the I-STEM portal with their CV and expertises and exposed to all the registered institutions/organisations so that those institutions/national labs may further engage them on the need basis.
Also the trainee may open their own consultancy to serve the laboratories based on need basis like doctors practice in various hospitals on hourly basis.
